It depends on where you live. If you live in LA, a good place to look is workingactors.com. or you can look here for ideas on what to look for. Click on actors, then training.
You can also get started in community theatre. Go to backstage.com and doa casting search in your area.
As for how to tell your mom, just tell her you've become interested in theatre and you'd like to try doing a play this summer. Don't get into the whole Hollywood thing until you see how she reacts to that :-)
You can also check out the "MeTV" contest on Nick.com. Show it to your mom and see if you can enter. Don't get too excited, just tell her you think it would be kind of neat :-) Then if she seems to be into it, you can let her in on your secret!
Good luck!

Try out for a school play or a part in your community theater. You will learn a lot there. You don't need an acting school yet, you need some local experience. They won't even consider taking you unless you have been in several performances. Also, join the school chorus, you need to at least be what is called a "double threat"- Someone who can act and sing. If you can dance, that makes you a triple threat.

Acting is the proper phrase. Obama has been performing from the commencing. One have to say he does good with following the script that's laid earlier than him. However that would possibly not make him even a mediocre President. Its simple to look that he and his cronies have an schedule and that schedule isn't what's fine for America.

You could start to practice your acting by trying out for a play at a theater, then work you way to the top. A way to ask to mom is suggest acting in the theater or little theater after you got information about it. Hope I helped!

Jenna Fischer, the actress who plays Pam on the Office, posted a wonderful acting advice blog on myspace a few months back with advice for beginning in acting. She is one of the stars of an Emmy-winning, prime-time show, so this is good advice! You can find the blog here:

The best way to find somewhere local is to look in your county's guide to parks and recreation. You can look it up on line or go to your library - they often have county camps and class listings.
Sometimes there will be ads for acting classes in the newspaper as well.
Good luck.

Good luck Audrey!
