Now that we know Direct TV is picking up Passions after NBC drops it in the fall, I was wondering if it's worth it to switch to Direct TV? Are any of you (fans only please) switching? If any of you already have it, are you satisfied with the service?

No, My family and I do not plan on switching. We have looked into DirecTV as opposed to staying with Dish Network. It seems like a down grade. With Dish we get 2 recievers, but each one is a dual reciever, which means you can use one reciever to watch 2 TVs and 2 channels at the same time. DirecTV gives you recievers that only allow you to watch one channel per reciever. So I would need four of them to be able to get it in my family room, living room, and 2 bed rooms. You have to pay extra for extra recievers. With Dish we don't have to. Plus Dish is cheaper in the long run (if you read the fine print on the DirecTV deals the sale price reverts back to regular price in about a year). Plus we were supposed to get some kind of deal by saying we are passions fans to DirecTV. But when I called them they had no idea what I was talking about beyond the fact that Passions is getting picked up by them. *rolls eyes* Not to mention all the hassle switching for one show would entail.

Oh, and I want to disabuse people of the notion that they will be able to find Passions elsewhere. NBC signed an exclusivity agreement with DirecTV. This means no one BUT DirecTV can show Passions anywhere for the next year. That includes NBC. So there will be NO MORE Passions available on NBC's website. I'm sorry but its the truth. The only way you will be able to find Passions anywhere besides DirecTV is if you find it illegally somewhere online.
Otherwise if you don't switch, like me, you will be forced to keep up with the show through recaps, screen caps, and message board talk, or decide to forget about it all together.

As much as I love the show, I refuse to switch for it. I will just stay up to date via the internet. Besides, I do not think the show will last long on Direct TV. The shows ratings on NBC are low enough and I can only predict that they will be even lower on Direct TV.

I also have Dish Network and Direct Tv is a rip off. You pay a lot more for a lot less. So, no I won't be switching either.

I am not going to switch to direct tv. I will just have to check on soapoperafan.com. I am hoping that Soapnet picks up the show so we would be able to see the re runs.

No, my father and mom do now not decide for to get Direct television basically so i'm able to video exhibit a cleansing cleansing soap opera they think of of is entire crap. And no, i wont be changing Passions with yet yet another cleansing cleansing soap opera. I watch Days of Our Lives in the technique the summer time time. yet college starts off off here day and because that cleansing cleansing soap opera comes on on the same time as i'm nevertheless in college i'm unable to have the flexibility to proceed watching it. Passions grew to grow to be into the only cleansing cleansing soap i had time for, yet now its getting cancelled. and that i'm sooo mad!

Well my husband seems to think that at the beginning of next year we will be able to pick our stations from any network. I wasn't going to switch anyways. In fact, I was going to get rid of dishnetwork all together (contract expires July) and not get anything.

wow Kat T GREAT answer... I am a passions fan ... and I have decided not to watch it anymore ... what is the point to continue watching all the way to September just to have them leave me with a bunch of unanswered questions?? I wish they were just cancelling it like they originally were going to do.. then at least we would all get to see the end!

Well, since NBC.com/daytime/passions has a section where you can watch the episodes every day, I'm not switching.
