If Cuba has one of the best systems in the world, why is Castro's Dr. from Spain? Why does Castro travel to Spain for surgery?

Is Michael Moore up to his old tricks again?

The same reason rich Canadians come to the US for major surgeries. You can disregard Moore on just about any thing he says. He's just out to make a buck. Universal healthcare is far from the cureall of the US health care woes. You're gonna pay for healthcare either way, except for right now it's the best in the world. Capitalism is a breeding ground for advances, so there's no easy answer.

No... universal health care doesn't work. A man from Canada, who I know, came to Chicago for surgery - rather than wait months for it at home. The problem with health care is the cost. With local doctors charging $180 for a simple 5 minute office call... THAT is where reform needs to begin.

That is an interesting point. Clearly Castro doesn't believe that Cuba's medical network is better than Spain's.

In my opinion, universal health care will not reduce the cost of health care one penny. It only changes who pays for health care. We should work on ways to reduce the cost of health care like tort reform.

No. You need to look no further than Canada, where women wait months for a mammogram. If I needed preventive health screenings, I want them ASAP. Moore went down to visit his leftist buddies to promote the leftist agenda.

The Cuban doctors botch 2 intestinal surgeries on Fidel..finally they had to call in outside help. Imagine what the average Cuban peon gets in the way of health care?

No it won't work.
We had a really good friend who was a nurse in Canada for 6 years. She is an American - her husband was transferred there.
SHE HATED THAT SYSTEM AND COULDN'T WAIT TO GET HOME TO THE USA and OUR system of treating the sick. She said even with our flaws, we exceed Canada's health care system by a mile.

Listen. I've seen the movie RainMaker, if you haven't you should watch it. Our Healthcare System is not much better.

It will only work if you don't shoot it in the foot before it even gets out of the starting blocks.

Ask Canadians and Brits how well it works in *their* countries! And ask how many people have died awaiting surgical procedures or organ transplants!

Michael Moore is nothing more than a liar.

He "claims" all he says in his films is " true" once it is proven false he claims it was "satire"

You cant have both be true.

He is a typical liberal hypocrite
