I am pregnant with my first and one of the older women in the office whenever she sees me is like, YOUR HUGE, YOU POPPED or my favorite I KNOW WHAT YOU DID THIS WEEKEND.....ATE! I know I should be really offended but I know Im not big, I wasnt overweight to begin with and Im 5 months and have only gained 10 pounds. My husband says Ilook great and I agree. I just dont understand what posseses people to think that they can just tell pregnant women how huge they are, as if they are unaware, has this happened to anyone, whats the dumbest thing someone has said to you?

Some people just have a hard time finding the right thing to say when a woman is pregnant. Instead of just saying "congratulations" like everyone else, they want to think of something original, but they look down at the obvious belly and start letting comments slip about that.

I guess it's just human nature.

Just keep your sense of humor about it and realize that people just want to say something - anything at all - to aknowledge you and your baby.

A lot of people told me in my 9th month "Omigosh, you've dropped! You're gonna have that baby any minute" when in reality I had dropped in my 8TH month, so I would just have to bite my tongue and not say "where were you last month??"

When I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with my first child, I had to go to this formal dinner. I found the perfect black dress - it had spaghetti straps, and showed off all of my curves and my beautiful baby belly. I honestly felt sexy.

Well, the party was at a fancy hotel. I had a restroom emergency (go figure), so I had to take the elevator to another floor (long line). On the way back down, there was a maid with a push cart riding with me.

She said, "I remember looking like you did." I smiled at her, thinking that she was going to tell me a heartwarming pregnancy story.

Then she said, "But I went on a diet and lost 83 pounds. You could do it too, if you tried."

I tried to laugh about it, but for the rest of the evening, I didn't feel nearly so sexy - I actually became pretty self-conscious.

Ohhhhh... my mother in law. Arrgh. We walked into their house (on Mother's Day!!) and the first thing out of her mouth was "How much weight have you gained?" This pregnancy, I've gained about 25 lbs., (I'm at 28 weeks) and with my first, I lost 15 lbs. overall. I think she's rubbing it in. I really don't care how much I gain, I am just doing what I can to have a healthy baby. The thing is, that last time, when I was losing weight, she would ask my husband, "Where's chubby?" or say "There's chubby!" when she saw me... I get so pissed. I'm happy for you that you can think comments are funny, I find them offensive. And it's not just because I'm pregnant, that's just not how you talk to someone at any time... btw, she's my husband's stepmom, his mom would not say those things...

I like it when people tell me Im big, I smile and say thank you.

Its either women who have never been pregnant or women who are jealous they didnt look this cute being pregnant. ;)
I dont even listen to the men..... "you have to be having twins" but it all makes me laugh. Some people are just oblivious to what they say.

Im pretty much all belly and she is sticking straight out. So it looks like I swallowed a soccer ball.

But when people actually ASK me "how much weight have you gained" I just tell them to guess and go about my business.

When I was pregnant with my oldest ALL (and I mean all) my coworkers were men! I also worked on an ambulance so I was surrounded by medics :) Towards the end of my pregnancy I moved to a desk position (checking out the equipment each shift) to take the strain off of my back. All my coworkers were just waiting for me to go into labor and they were taking bets to see which one of them would be on shift and end up delivering my baby lol.

So one evening, a few coworkers were at my desk getting gear and chatting with each other. I tossed a mostly-empty glass of lemonade toward the trash can and it bounced off and spilled all over my leg. I cried out "Oh no!" and all the guys stopped talking and just stared at me with these freaked-out faces lol finally one of them said "what' wrong?" and when I explained what had happened they all breathed this huge sigh and one said "I thought you were having the baby lol" some brave bunch of medics they turned out to be :)

I get soooooo tired of the people who ask if I am sure that there isnt two in there. I am really short and ALL belly. And I am also to the point that I cant wear my wedding ring anymore because I am retaining water, so I love the You should be ashamed comments. So I now have an excuse to let my bitchy side out. I just freak out on them and then walk away smiling thinking wow I love being preggo.

I actually had someone at work tell me, "Hey Wendi, walk a little slower so your *** can catch up, here, I'm holding the door for it!"
I never laughed so hard in my life. I wasn't offfended at all, it was so funny! I'm 5'8" and weigh maybe 130 pounds. So, I know I'm not big, actually, kinda flattered. I've never had an ***!

When I was with my (pregnant) aunt, my cousin said you could fit in with the elephants at the zoo.
My other cousin also said to her he was wondering if she was going to pop

I guess those are pretty funny, but more insulting for my aunt :)
