Adding Sodium Hydroxide to Hydrochloric Acid produces Sodium Chloride and Water. This is a neutralisation reaction which happens when an Acid and a Base are mixed to both neutralise to give a Salt and Water.. Sodium Hydroxide + Hydrochloric Acid = Sodium Chloride + Water NaOH + HCl --> NaCl + H2O Just remember that the 2 in H2O is a small 2 :)
