Down; keeps all the Peruvian Mill Bugs from getting in to give me a nasty surprise. Those things are like Kamakazes, always making a beeline for my food and dying in it, or floating around in front of me when I watch tv. The last thing I need is them in my drink.

Down. Because when I was a kid I went to my aunts house one time and got a cup. She put them face up. I looked in it and there was this giant dead bug in there. Gross. I always put my cups down so no bugs decide to make my glasses their final resting place.

guess i'm odd!! my coffee mugs hang, drinking glasses are face down, and the kids plastic cups are face up (stacked).

Up they get to air out. If left down any moisture left after washing is trapped causing smells.
