When you are using two sound drivers, there is a primary sound card and a secondary sound card. The last driver installed will be the primary sound card. To switch it back, delete your monitor speaker sound card and then reinstall them. You will need seperate speakers for the other sound card.

Let's say you want to play a music CD while playing a video game. What you load first (the music cd or the game) will activate the primary card and what you run second will run the secondary card.

If your sound cable is seperate on your monitor, just plug it into the new sound card and it should work too.

Have you installed the drivers for that particular hardware? Check to see if it came with a drivers CD, if not check at the manufacturers website for them. Also check to make sure your monitors speakers are plugged in.
