I am a liberal Democrat. You should consider that, as far as I know, there is no law requiring multilingual packaging in the US, but to sell in Canada you must label in both French & English. I suspect that to sell in Europe you must also label in multiple languages.
If a manufacturer believes that it can sell more widgits simply by putting Spanish or Chinese subtitles on the box, that's capitalism, and they should go for it. A dollar paid by a Chinese spends just like one paid by an Anglo.
Now let's talk about your unspoken assumptions: Immigrants, particularly Hispanic, aren't learning English any more. Incorrect. The Hispanic community is turning out just like the previous waves of immigrants-The old folks cluster together and speak Spanish, their children speak Spanish at home, but English at school and work, and the grandchildren speak little or no Spanish, causing complaining articles in the Spanish press about children losing their heritage. This is just the way it happened with the Polish, Italian, and East European Jewish immigrants in the last century and a half, among others.
There is only one reason to have a language purity requirement; the fear that your language is so inferior that it cannot compete in the open market. Well, English has already won. Now we are simply cleaning out the corners.

I talk English, French, Japanese and Arabic (so as of fluency, English is my mom tongue), and I do have goals in each English and French, as good as goals which include each languages. In the beyond while I used to be much less fluent I had goals in French wherein I nonetheless understood the whole thing effectively. It is also a random query, however It's particularly exciting - I want that I'd requested it! Hope this is helping. x

I lean towards the liberal and no, it doesn't bother me. those packages are made for a world wide market. It's cheaper for a company to produce one label with many languages rather than many labels for each different market, it's just business.

I'm basically middle of the road, but somewhat on the liberal side.
I don't see anything wrong with multi-lingual signs, labels, or instructions, and I don't see why it would annoy anyone. If it weren't for immigration, you wouldn't be here either unless you're a Native American.

I am generally conservative-leaning. I don't really care about how many languages instructions are written in as long as English is one of them!
