Good for them. They have a very good young hitting line up lead by a great vet in Todd Helton. All they need was for the pitching to get hot and they have. The Rockies always seem to start slow out of the gate but once they get things clicking they are a good club.

The Rockies have the talent. They just have to get all 3 phases of the game working together at the same time and be consistent with it (pitching, hitting, and defense).

That has been the Rockies biggest problem over the years, when they are hitting well, the pitching stinks, when they are pitching well, they can't hit. Overall, pitching has been the main problem, and it kills me to see when the Rockies get a pitcher that does well at Coors Field, they seem to get rid of him (see Pedro Astacio and Jason Jennings).

This bunch of players came up together through the minor leagues and know how to play together. But as soon as one of these kids becomes a superstar, you can bet they will be going to a team with good ownership who understands that the stars need to be payed well. So long Matt Holliday.

Being a Rockies fan, I so badly want to see meaningful baseball in September and hopefully October someday. But as long as the penny pinching Monfort brothers own the team, we may never see those days. The talent is there and I hope they can make a run, but it will be a one year run and then the team will be dismantled. I just hope a pro sport owner like Stan Kroenke buys the team and builds the team for long term runs.

It is pretty sad when your team is in the basement and the only satisfaction you get is a 7 game winning streak, but I hope it happens and I'll support them until the day I die.

Go Rockies!!!

It all comes down to pitching, when they get it they are just as good as anyone else on any given day. However, They need to put it together for an entire season and that will be a little difficult for them looking at their pitching staff. It's really hard to win 10-9 every day.
