can anyone tell me the safe temperature to set hot water at on new boiler.please?

I am a registered childminder and have just had new boiler fitted. Very concerned as the water is scorching hot

THE RECOMMENDED TEMP TO STOP SCALDING IS 48C TO ACHEIVE THIS YOU WOULD HAVE TO FIT A MIXER VALVE AT POINT OF USE , NOW HERE IN SCOTLAND ALL NEW BATHS AND BIDETS MUST HAVE MIXERS TO STOP KIDS GETTING SCALDED IF THEY FALL INTO HOT WATER , THESE MIXERS ARE SET TO 48C BUT EVEN THAT IS HOT MOST THERMOSTATIC SHOWERS ARE SET FOR 38C SO UNLESS YOU GO THE WHOLE HOGG AND FIT MIXERS EVERYWHERE THE ONLY OTHER THING TO DO IS WASH KIDS SUPERVISED , IF YOU TURNED THE TEMP DOWN ON YOUR HOT WATER THE DISHES WONT CLEAN PROPERLY .

Do you mean a water heater to heat the water that comes out of the water faucet?
I think the recommended setting for safety is 130 to 140 degrees. If it is too hot you can turn it down. There should be a dial or something like that on the front of the heater, you may have to remove a metal cover to find it.
210 degrees is boiling, I don't think they go that high.

Is it a combi or does it use a header tank?
If it's a combi, the temperature, subject to the overriding thermostat, depends on the flow rate. Increase the flow rate, or adjust the Summer/Winter valve (if it's on Winter it'll be too hot in the Summer)

it should be set no higher than 60 degrees or should be just hot enough so that when u go 2 wash up u dont need 2 add any cold water.

Keep it at 55 degrees (at the boiler). Any lower and you risk creating a breeding ground for Legionella.

55 degrees is just safe. do not go more than 60, because that will be very hot. we even use our shower with water no more than 55 degrees.

Try setting it midway. If that is too hot try it lower again.
