I am 3 months pregnant. I went to the ER last Thursday and I had some mild bleeding. They did blood tests and said that my hormone levels were normal but they could not find a fetal heart beat. They also said that there was no fetal movement on the untrasound. They never actually told me for sure that the baby was dead. I've had mild bleeding all week but I have not passed fetal tissue. Has this happened to anyone and their baby actually survived?

Everyone seems to recommend that I talk to my doctor...well, I had just signed up for medicaid when all this happened and had not yet been assigned a doctor. When I left the ER they gave me the name of a doctor to see the next day but he could not schedule me in until this week even when I told the nurse that I was bleeding and that I was told to go there by an ER doctor.

Call your ob right now. They need to check your hormones and do an internal ultrasound, which is the best way to determine what is going on with. If you have lost the baby, you will need to decide if you want nature to take its course, or to have everything removed. I chose the latter because I wanted to heal quickly and be able to start trying as soon as possible. (My OB told me that when women find out that they have an "aborted" miscarriage, (one that hasn't left the body), that they usually pass it within a week of finding out.) There is still a chance that you are okay, so get to the doctor immediately!

I've had a similar experience....I was 8 weeks pregnant in ER for mild bleeding and no fetal heart beat. They ended up keeping me over night until they could figure out exactly what was going on. They finally located a heart beat although it was very low..lower than 80, I was told my pregnancy was not going to last another week. I was soooo devastated!! Two weeks later I was scheduled for an U/S at the hospital and there was my baby....w/ a heart rate of 160!
Although you are already 3 months, a heart beat should be detected....you need to be more persistant w/ your doctor and the hospital!! I requested for the nurse to check for a fetal heart rate all the time, I requested for a vaginal u/s as well I was calling my doctor all the time. I didn't exactly know what was going on so the best I could do was hassel my ob/gyn until everything was normal.
You bleeding for a week is not a good sign, go back to the hospital and demand for them to check you again or to tell you what's going on. This is your child and the doctors should be able to detect what is going on.......

This happened to me but my baby did not make it. The bleeding soon followed by severe cramping. If you have cramping I would say it doesn't sound good. However, on the brighter side I do know a girl who has a similar situation without cramping (just bleeding occurred) and she went straight home and lied on her couch with her feel elevated for weeks and her baby was fine. Just take it easy and relax. Call your doctor and discuss your concerns if the bleeding continues.
