no, its disappointing too. sometimes they just let one rip and you have to notice it is so gross sounding, and they just continue what they were doing. The only time i noticed them noticing was when a monkey sat on the ground and let a rumbly fart then looked at the ground for what made his booty shake. I had a good laugh but i dont think he did.

Most bodily functions are no big deal to animals.
A good ripping fart sometimes brings on a response from the others in a group -- but "amusement" per se, I've haven't witnessed it -- but I wouldn't put it beyond chimpanzees.

It is very common for many animals, including primates, to throw feces as entertainment, a warning, or as a weapon.
Chimps in zoos often use feces as paint to decorate their walls.

I would say no on the farting. Take some time at a zoo and you will see what they do to amuse themselves. Often not a pretty or amusing sight.

I would guess not. Humans have decided that farting is rude and shouldn't be done in public. That's the only reason we make a big deal about it. It is our social conditioning that makes us find it amusing.

I doubt it. The human animal is the only one known to have a sense of humor. Those "laughing" chimps you see on beer commercials have been trained to do that. Only a human, and only one like you, would find flatulence to be comical.
