Buddy Holly was the FIRST to combine blues and country to make the Rock and Roll sound.
Even so, Elvis became the King.
Partly because he was so versatile (jumping rock, blues, soulful music, gospel, and pop) and partly because Buddy Holly was gone.
Elvis made and sold more records than any other artist or group, EVER!
