I realize I can get a ceiling fan, but that won't fix the PROBLEM. It does not appear to be clogged or leaking ducts. The air does not flow out of this vent as much as the other rooms (especially on the other side of the house). I am wondering if there are some type of separate fans internal to the A/C and the one that directs the air one way is working, but the other one is not. Thanks.

You may need what they call "flow balancing" (or just "balance"). Someone (a mechanical engineer) should have figured out *about* how much air flow each room needs, and designed the ducts and air cooler accordingly, when your condo was built . Sometimes there is a damper (valve) to adjust how much comes in. If you can partially close other vents on the system, it *may* force more air into the warmer room.

If you live in a condo, many others may have a similar problem. In that case, a remedy for one may be tranferable to all units.

two things you could do. One is get a vent fan that just sits on top of the vent and pulls the air out of the duct. Most big hardware stores carry them the other is to damper down the other rooms in the house so you get more pressure in the duct to push the air further. thisshould help even things out. Good luck :)

leave door to room open and see if notice a different.if so you are not getting enough air back out of the room and need to add a return to that room.if you do not notice a difference then you are not getting enough to the room or you have compensated for your problem by opening the vent wide open and need to push vents back up almost to where they look like they are closed but not quite closed that pushes air across the whole room i hopes this helps you

recheck the duct, it may have a crack or disconnection somewhere on the line. if that is the problem, once fixed, your energy will be reduce also!
