Workplace seniority. It's what makes bureaucracy such a quagmire!
I'm all for respecting experience, but there has to be an element of merit involved. I left a job when I realized I'd only be promoted when one of my much more senior supervisors died or left of their own accord. Who needs to hang around and do a death watch?

wisdom. if they gave some wisdom to young ones i think it might make it easier for the old. and then our world would be a better place dont you think. but it would also be over populated because since children would be wiser it would be easier to take care of them and people would have more kids. but it could turn out either way, i dont think we will ever know. it needs to be thought out a lot more. but to answer your question directly wisdom.

good question - I would say experience. As people get older, they have a wealth of experience, but often are not hired because of ageism, and a work environment that is so rigidly structured that it cannot accommodate flexible work schedules and part time staff.
