I would like to see the '2 party system' actually operate the way that our republic was intended to operate, in that the '2 party system' should be a multi-party system.
It seems, however, that if those of a differing political bent band together to form a political party, there is always the issue that the party with 2 names seems to have ALL the money.
It takes a large amount of cash to win even a small local election. What chance at a national election would anyone other than a democan or republicrat have?

On a basic level: Yes! However, I disagree with you that each party is controlled by the extreme fringe. I do agree that many citizens are divided and lack understanding.
Both major parties are puppets for the owners of the Federal Reserve. Aside from someone like Ron Paul most members of Congress would never propose abolishing the private corporation that has a monopoly on US monetary policy. They're more interested in continuing to serve in Congress and get a pension than they are in serving the American people and what's in our best interests.
When was the last time either major party proposed legislation to buy back the Federal Reserve and cut out the middlemen who are ruining America? When was the last time this question was asked by anyone in mainstream media or are they just puppets also (because those who own the Federal Reserve also control [by owning the majority shares of stock] the major media outlets?
The real question though is: what are you going to do?

The fringe elements of the respective parties get to control a large portion of the debate because there is, sadly, a minimun of people who want to fight for the true issues. Most Americans are mind-numbed into just going along and following the crowd. I wish more people would think for themselves, but our culture does not promote that. Our culture uses TV and other media to send out a mind-numbing message which makes people very happy to sit at home and root for American Idol. That pretty much takes up most of their week.

It isn't a true 2-party system because the 2 parties have the same ideology and same views on the role the government should play in the lives of the American people. We need a party that thinks outside of the box. A party that challenges the motives and actions of the current parties - who currently are not being held accountable. There is no checks within the government, because both parties have granted itself the power to be so infringing. The government shouldn't have the right to tell itself what it is and isn't allowed to have jurisdiction over - that is the job of the people. We have lost control of our lives and handed it to this monstrous all powerful entity.

YES. The two party system is designed to further keep the American people seperated. We are seperated by republicans and democrates and then these two are seperated by conservitives and liberals. This is nothing more then a means to keep the American people seperated and possibly split the vote.

If only other parties weren't systematically barred from participating in the political process. Our choices at the polls are limited by laws enacted by Republicans and Democrats, and nobody with any power is going to call them out on it.

Both parties are not represented by the extreme fringes. Even an idiot can figure that out.
However I am sick and tired of the looney left and the spineless right.

Absolutely. It should not matter what your party wants, just what the people you represent want. The 2 party system is not productive or efficient.
