marilyn manson is an artist who uses shock tactics to sell records. Pushing the limits of acceptable dress and behaviour, and music ridden with teenage angst, he appeals to a rebelious teenager. As society gets more and more liberal and tolerant, teenagers are looking for new ways to rebel, and Manson rebels and bucks conformity just for the sake of it. I think its a load of old rubbish, and he'sonly copying old metal bands like alice cooper etc with his oddball dark antics. Manson is almost like parent friendly rebellion, as the parents generation these days remembers hedonistic rock n roll, much less rebelious than say, gangster rap or rave music. Manson appeals to middle class teenagers, and people on the edge of society who need to find an identity few mentally healthy people could accept, and therefore find self worth in being "exclusive!"

I don't have respect for this person's way of getting attention. Sorry. Wish you weren't handing him money to act like that. I don't believe in drugs or metrosexuality.

I like some of his music. I don't necessarily let my son listen to it, but when I feel like rocking out, he's one of the people I listen to.

it is true that nobody cares about him any more..he is sort of a has-been.
When I do have to think of him I usually think that he's just nasty, his music is crappy and he was never a good role model to his young fans
