Today's (29 May 2007) exchange rate at banks in Tijuana:
US $1 will get you 10.70 pesos
It costs 10.95 pesos to buy US$1
(The difference is the bank or currency exchange's profit margin)

According to http://www.xe.com, the current exchange rate is 100.00 MXN = 9.24269 USD, or about 10 Mexican pesos to 1 American dollar.

It's interesting that you ask this now because I was just in Mexico about a month ago for my honeymoon. Most vendors will just do the 10 pesos to 1 dollar conversion.

For more accurate results, use http://www.xe.com. It converts other currencies too!
