Most Desktops use DIMM modules and most laptops use SODIMM modules - however there are exceptions.

The so called "Desknote" computers use Desktop RAM to make them cheaper, so to really know you will have to look.

Most laptops have a small access panel on the bottom to access the RAM, just open it up and you will be able to see what kind of RAM is used. A SODIMM module is only about 3" long and a desktop DIMM module is about twice that.

Good Luck
