You put the nozzle in the hole and it spreads a foam type stuff throughout the ant colony.

I got rid of mine in one night, but I caught them right as they were just coming into the house. I noticed that mine were coming into the kitchen via the back wall of the kitchen. They seemed to be most abundant right around the baseboards. So, I took some scotch tape and made a firm seal between the baseboards and the floor. They instantly started getting stuck. Then I went outside, took a kettle of boiling water, and drenched the siding on the back of the house with the boiling water. Never saw another one since, and it cost absolutely nothing.

find another ant mound at least 100 feet from the one you want to kill. Take a shovel full of ants from it and dump it onto your mound. The ants, even of the same species, will attack it and try to get to the queen . If they're successful, the mound will die.
