I have had that happen to me before. Some wierd lady came to my door flipping out about some guy who took her on a date and she wouldn't do the "thing" with him and he threw her out of the car. My bf and I let her in so she could use the phone, and it was the middle of the night. But I think we should've just called the cops, b/c she turned out to be a whacko and we almost couldn't get her to leave.

I would go outside and talk with you to find out what was going on and whether I trusted you or not. If I felt something was not right about you or your story, I would definitely NOT let you in. If I felt you were in need of help and I could trust you, I would let you in, but I wouldn't let you out of my sight while you were in my house. The fact is, I don' t know you and it's a crazy world.

Unfortunately, many people I don't know knock on my door--they are usually looking for: money, cigarettes, the phone, a drug dealer, a place to stay, a beer, a ride, or to convert me to some other religion or other that I have no interest in. Oh, cops have even knocked looking for various felons...
So, I probably would not let you, or anyone I don't know, in.

that depends on if i knew who you were... if an absolute stranger knocked on the door and they were crying... first of all, there are a number of doors they could have chose from first and they would have had to climb to the second story balcony to knock on my door... so... if i didn't know who you were and you were knocking on my door crying... i'd ask you what was wrong but you'd be standing out on the porch.

no, because you are a stranger and I have teach my children not to open the door for anyone.
However, I would call 911 for you or on you. Which ever way you wanna look at it.
Nothing personal, but this is a dog eat dog world out there, and I trust no one. :) cheers.

Sure I would let you in, give you some tissues, chocolate and let you talk while I listen.
The next day I would send you flowers, just because it is the nice thing to do for a nice person.

It depends on what kind of a cry it was. If you were frightened, absolutely. But if you were merely crying because of a breakup I would let you go to your friends who would know better how to soothe you.
