Before making a decision on where to attend, I would think first about what type of law you want to practice. If this school doesn't have a wide variety of classes, you may be at a disadvantage when you graduate.

That said, people with law degrees can always find jobs. You probably won't be able to work at a huge law firm where people who graduate from top law schools are applying. But if you make good grades and interview well, I have no doubt that you can find a job when you graduate.

Go to salary.com, and you can find out how much lawyers make in your area. But keep in mind that there are so many ways of practicing law, that the numbers vary greatly. Larger firms will pay more, smaller firms will pay less. If you did have your own firm, your earning potential would be greater and it wouldn't matter at all where you went to school.

On salary.com, use the salary wizard. Type in "attorney 1" and put in your zip code. This will give you an idea of the salary range for lawyers just out of law school in your area.

I'm a 3L (3rd year law student). Take my advice: take the LSAT and go to the best possible school you can get into. Employers look at where you went as well as at your GPA. If you go to a decent law school, have decent grades, and practice in a large city, you can expect to make around $80,000 - $125,000 in private law firm practice your first year out of law school. Go to http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/law/lawindex_brief.php to find out which law schools are considered better or worse. Anyting in the top tier is great! If you can't get into a top tier school, try to transfer after your first year, but keep in mind that your grades have to be excellent (and that's not easy). To get more information, you can get involved in a pre-law group at your college or talk to your guidance counselor. Good luck!

How much you make will depend a lot on you.

Check with the American Bar Association web site and stick with accredited programs. It will make it much easier to be eligible to sit for the Bar exam (which is necessary to make any money).

Do this. Call the county bar assoc and ask if theyre are any atttorneys practicing in your county who went there. Then, call these attorneys and ask their opinion. That's what should count.
It'll only cost you some time and some phone calls.
