I was wondering if someone with psychiatric problems could be a psychiatrist ??

It would depend on the level of psychiatric problems and the State licensing board. Some boards do not allow Doctors with certian diagnosis to practice. Barring that, many people go into the mental health profession to fix themselves.

Absolutely. You're asking a question equivalent to: can people who have car troubles become a mechanic? Realize, though, that psychiatrists are primarily people who prescribe drugs to solve problems.

Yeah, psychiatrist are human. They probably have more problems than any other profession ( But you wouldn't know) - They deal with people on another level- mentally.

Actually its pretty amazing that people that had a past of psychiatric problems can be way more expereienced then a person that has no problems.

Yes. Obviously though, they must be at a level of functioning where they can make it through medical school and perform their job to the standards of the profession.

of course how do you think they get into the field and do their best? its because they can relate. its fine just as long as they arent mentally crazy or anything.
