Dress, it seems overwhelming, doesn't it? I have no idea how old you are, but you need a plan. Print this list off . . . as you finish each item, check it off.

Set a timer for 1 hour. The goal is to get done before the hour is over.
1. Make sure each bed is made. That way you have a place to put items for others to sort later.

2. Put cleaner in the toilets. Spray disinfecting cleaner on the faucets and on the exterior of the toilet (including the handle) and under the lid.

3. Pick up any clutter in the front room. Put glasses in the kitchen, trash in the can, pillows on the sofa . . . so the way is clean to dust and vaccumn.

4. Wipe down the areas in each bathroom you sprayed a few minutes ago. If the spray has dried, respray. Finish the toilet and wipe down the exterior. Throw away the paper towels or put cleaning cloths in the laundry.

5. Start dusting and vaccumn each room. In bedrooms neatly place clutter on the bed for the person who lives there to put away.

6. Finish up in the living room, den, and dining room. . . dusting electronics, end tables and give it a quick vaccumn.

7. Head to the kitchen. Load the dishwasher, wipe down the cabinets and table, wipe out the sink and polish the faucets (my mom always thought it looked so clean, and only required moments of my time). Take care of the floor.

8. Take out the trash. Spray a little air freshner . . .

9. Grab a drink and a snack.

10. Hour done? Give yourself a 30 break, then hit those books for finals. Set the timer so the break doesn't stretch to 2 hours . . . .

Good luck! Get going!

ok first things first - it sucks that you have to clean with finals so close but....what other way is there but to just get it done right? Put on some really good music and have at er!
I'd say start by picking up anything on the floor and put it away, then haul out the vaccuum cleaner and vaccuum all the rooms. As you finish with each room, clean the rest of it. So if you're in the living room and just finished vacuuming pick up anything that looks out of place. You'll probably end up spending more time in the bathrooms than anything else. I like to reward myself after I finish a room by taking a break and doing something kinda fun or in your case I'd say sit down a study for a couple minutes then keep going with the chores.
I'd do it for you if I could. You should be concentrating on your studies.

i would say do the best you can. Don't tackle the bedrooms or bathrooms totally. Maybe start by vaccuming the entire house, you know get the floors done. Then dust all at once. So you are not repeating taking things out to clean. While cleaning the kitchen, you can memorize things for your test, just take baby steps on cleaning the house, make an effort. So that when she comes home you can say you vaccummed, mopped, dusted, and what ever else you can get done by the time she gets home, just study while you work. take breaks inbetween cleaning and study. floors don't take long, dusting wont' be perfect(swiffer if you have them), bathroom (just scrub the toilet and wipe down the counter, leave the shower for later), bedrooms, i would only do floors and vaccum, living room, same thing, kitchen will take longer, wipe down everything, and take care of dishes. Did you tell your mom you need to study? Or were you not studying when she left, giving her the impression that you didn't need to study and so she asked for your help?

When your mum said clean the house from top to bottom , sure she just mean´s a quick hoover & bathroom´s. But if she said the whole house , then this is the quickest way I know, Always work in one room at a time, never waste time taking thing´s back to their rightful homestill you finish the room. Ready? Set your clock to go off in 15 min´s time, see how much you can do in this short time, Example, bedroom, All dirty clothes in a pile next to the bedroom door , along with any other thing that does´t belong, all clean clothes to the closet, don´t forget the shoes from under the bed, Stop. sit down and get your breath, set the clock again and do the same again. keep doing this and you will fly through the houswork. Normally you would´t have to do it all in one day, but if you ever try this way again always reward yourself even if you don´t finsh . Leave the hoovering till last. like this you go from room to room.in theis case, I wish you luck. sure you will be fine

I used to clean at a motel and there are two ways a person can clean....deep cleaning which means you basically clean every inch of the place leaving no spot on turned....or spot cleaning which is basically just straightening up each room covering the basics. I'd just spot clean your house your mom will be satisfied that ever room got straightened up a little and you'll still have plenty of time for finals.

I recommend doing the harder work first. Then the easier work will seem like a breeze. If you are allowed to have a friend or two over, ask them if they would like to help, then you can get it done faster and then you can hang out for a while. Giving yourself a reward to look forward to usually helps.

First off make a deal with your mom that you will clean the house after you study for your finals.
By the way, why are you doing all the housework???
Your still in school with tests!
Uggg, how inconsiderate on your mom's part.

First stop wasting time by being on-line . Second, start on one room at a time, starting with the hardest first.

Finals this week? I would call your mom and ask to get to it after finals.

All your concentration needs to go into your studying.

Your mom should understand.
