Need help with a percents/fractions problem.?

It's a 2 part problem. I have the answers but I need help finding out how to get the answers. Can you please show your work. Thank you

John had completed 66 2/3% of the house he was building.

A) What fraction of the house had John completed? 2/3

B) What percent of the house remains to be built? 33 1/3

A) What fraction of the house had John completed?

(if you had been given the 66% bit!)

66% = 0.66

0.66 (written as a fraction) = 66/99

Simplify 66/99

answer = 2/3

B) What percent of the house remains to be built?

Well from the previous answer we know he has completed 2 thirds.

So it is simply

3/3 - 2/3 = 1/3

1/3 = 0.333333333333

0.333333333 = 33%

For the house to be complete it would need to be 100% completed.

A) John completed 66 2/3 of the house.
66 2/3 divided by 100 = .666666666
(3/3 = 100%)
1/3 = .33333333 = 33 1/3%
2/3 = .66666666 = 66 2/3%
So John has completed 2/3 of the house.

B) The remaining house to be built is 33 1/3 %.
100 - 66 2/3 = 33 1/3
(300/3) - (200/3) = (100/3)
100/3 = 33.3333333 = 33 1/3

2/3 = .6666667 = 66 2/3 %

1 - 2/3 = 1/3

66 2/3% is that many parts of 100. Obviously part of your question is in fractions so 2/3 is two thirds of 100 parts. It is necessary to divide 2 by3 to get the percentage value. As we know that 2/3 is less than 1 it is important to get the decimal pint in the right place so:-

0.1 is 1/10
0.01 is 1/100
0.001 is 1/1000
and so on.

Divide 2 by 3 and you get 0.6666 recurring.
Add the original whole number of 66 and you get:-

66 + 0.666 = 66.666% or parts of 100
So 2/3 = 66.666%
Subtract 66.666 from 100 and you get
100 - 66.666 = 33.333 (recurring) (Or 33.334)
So the remaining part to be built is 33.333%
