Yes, when I was stranded at my uncle's. It was okay! ;-)

I have not, though I am very close. I know there are a lot of people that need help. I have worked in food pantries. I think it is important for everyone to donate any way they can, time, food, personal hygiene products or money to help others in out communities. If nothing else, I have taught my four wonderful children to have compassion and empathy for others.

I've never gotten to that point, because I received help from my mom, sister, brother, and my friends when I needed it, but I do donate food now that I'm able to, because you never know when you may be hit with hard times like the people who rely on the food pantries now.

The very first year we were married and Army pay was horrible. Some people from our church saw how empty our cupboards were and had church members(mostly military like us) bring food and cleaning supplies. That was 35 years ago. We didn't know to ask anyone for anything and did the best we could.
We were so appreciative of the kindness, that we donated food/clothing/babysitting many times during my husband's Army career.

No, but I think it is very important to donate to food pantries whenever they have a food drive or inform the media that they are short on food...that happens in our city from time to time.

No thank God but I have stayed in a battered woman's shelter on more than one occasion until I finally decided enough was enough.
Oh and when I was a teenaged mother, I was on public assistance while they tracked down the highschool sweetheart donor. She was adopted by family but that is another story entirely.

No.
But when my youngest was first born, I did get food stamps for about 3 months. We needed them, and I was doing my best otherwise.
We had just moved from SD to TN and the move had pretty much wiped out all our funds. They gave us a 1000 dollar moving allowance, but that didn't even pay for the moving trucks. Until he got pay coming in regularly from his job, we needed everything we could get.

Yes I have.As a child,my mother constantly went to the food bank. And as an adult,I have been there a few times.
Food banks are great for people who need the help, but there are alot of people who abuse the privilege.

I have pretty much been on food stamps since my husband died. The other ladies at the church have brought me some groceries (milk, bread, eggs, and cheese) from time to time.
