Chavez called President Bush "Satan"-----and the liberals spoke out in defense of the dictator---------My question is now that he has closed a television station that dared to speak against his tyranny ---------will the liberals still come to his defense in spite of the fact he has flagrantly attacked the right to free speech?

Both of these people were democratically elected making your dictator claim sound downright stupid. Capitalism is all about having a fair playing field. If a company that controls advertising revenue is not taking data accurately and preventing all companies from having an equal opportunity to compete, then they should be investigated. Do you oppose the free market? Are you saying that someone should be able to interfere with the free market? Why do you oppose looking into this? An investigation is just that. Not a guilty verdict....just something to investigate. If you don't see the difference here, then I don't know what to tell you. edit: If it's baseless, the investigation will show that. You lump Obama into the dictator category. You must really hate the country or have very little faith in our democracy if you think it's a dictatorship. Did you feel this way in the past or just when you lost?

Whoa, let's get some things straight, kid. While Chavez is a far cry from being a good president, he is at the very least fulfilling his mandate. He was elected (a few times) to deal a blow to the property holding class of Venezuela. It is agreed that his popular policies are already becoming dangerous for the future of the country, and hopefully such a threat will wake up the Venezuelan populace to work for a have-have not alliance.
Still, what Chavez has said in terms of international matters is spot on. The US had no right to invade or embargo Cuba, it has no right to be in Iraq today and it was the height of hypocrisy for Bush to even show up at the UN. The joke about dubya being the devil was welcome by every thinking person i know. Even people who oppose Chavez are quite aware that at the very least he has done what he said he would do. When was the last time a US president did that?
One more thing, do you know what a liberal is? the word is very badly misused in the US to mean democrats and the left in general when its 'dictionary' meaning and its 'historical' meaning are both quite different.
Before launching such indiscriminate generalizations you ought to pick up a book, you know?

I am a liberal, and I don't agree with defending Chavez, and I don't think all liberals defend him so don't stereo type us.

Not all conservatives agree with Bush's war. I know a lot of Republicans that didn't vote for Bush in 2004.

I personally think chavez is a hypocrit, and if he were in bush's shoes he would probably do the same thing. Not that I agree with the war and bush's decisions since he has been in office.

It's a good thing Don Imus was in America where we have free speech. Chavez would have had Imus taken off the air. Because Chavez flagrantly attackeds the right to free speech?

PAY ATTENTION.
YOU CAN'T AFFORD FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Have you not heard of The Dixie Chicks?
You speak of freedom of speech being denied those people and have no problem with Chavez having the freedom of speech to voice his opinion about Mr Bush.
What country are you living in that you think that you truly have freedom of speech?
What do you think all this flap is now about the Attorney General and your beloved President Bush.
They are gradually taking away the little bit of freedoms that we all are privy to and individuals like you seem to be blind to that FACT.
WAKE! UP!
Open your eyes.
Look around.
Welcome to America;
The Land of “They” whom will tell you who’s free or not and what and how much freedom you think you’ll have.
Rules and Regulations subject to change at the whim of ‘THEY”.
tmo.

edit:
I don’t know if quiteunique7 was being facetious or not but Imus WAS TAKEN OFF THE AIR FOR EXERCISING HIS FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
Albeit his comment was not about the president but nonetheless, he WAS BOOTED because of what he SAID.
And “THEY” shut down media by other means in this country according to the rules and regulations of this country.
Again; WAKE! UP!
And btw; I’m not A liberal and for all you out there that ARE liberal;
KEEP UP THE FIGHT.

Of course they still love Chavez. He hates America and Freedom. Just like them. Just like them. Just like them. Just like them.
Hey, Libs! Michael Moore, Chavez' second mate, says Hi to you, keep fighting against love, honor, justice, and your own rights!

Sure they will, since liberals are all about attacking the free speech of conservatives here in the U.S., at least on college campuses.

Well the libs control most of the media in the US anyway, so they don't have to close them down, just the ones that don't agree with them.
