Because he refers to himself in 3rd person-- thus you see he needs attention and someone to stroke his ego and since nobody will stroke his ego he does it himself --sad really most men with big egos are Smaller in other areas> like brains and well i'm sure you get it.

He probably has a fat wife who totally rules his life, and this is his only outlet. He obviously doesn't realize how ignorant he sounds. Or maybe he is a fattie himself. Assuming Rico is male of course.
