Yep - the Pope said only a few weeks ago that science showed evidence of evolution but that because it took place over millions of years it would probably never find definitive proof! If the top man says that and also recognises the time scale? Where do these people get the idea they are so right?
Do they honestly believe that God was incapable of using evolution as his tool?
Sadly most of the people behind it have passed on from Christianity to ideology and that is something entirely different. It is also sad that they appear bent on destroying the church from the inside!!
True Christians do not just believe in a loving, inclusive and forgiving God, they also believe he can do anything and that his ways are mysterious.
Only the bad ones think they know all about God!

I think it sort of belongs with the "alligator farm" I once visited many years ago in Hot Springs, Arkansas, when I was a kid. Not only did it have alligators, deer, and other live critters, but it also had what was supposed to be the petrified remains of a merman! It was obviously a fake and was the sort of thing you would see in a carnival house of horrors.

What I find embarrassing, is that we teach in our schools that given enough time, hydrogen turns into humans (by blind chance).
And so to quote you, that is what I think "makes the US look very backward. With people who support this type of dribble, we must be falling behind."

Clear thinking people are not embarrassed by it. They find it utterly hilarious. Creationists are the ones that should be embarrassed by it. I particularly like the "proof" that T-Rex was a plant eater. That one may be hard to top........but I won't bet my house on it.

It is their right to have.
Just be happy that it will never be a true museum. It is a religious shrine.

No not at all... the Creation model make more sense of the evidence we observe than does evolutionism. See for yourself at;

What's more embarrassing is how people claim to be tolerant of others' beliefs, yet can't stand it when they stand up for it.
