I'm so sorry you're feeling this bad. Migraine-like headaches are common in early pregnancy, but that doesn't make them any less miserable.
Because yours are so severe, and Tylenol is not working, you might need to take a migraine medication which is safe for pregnancy. Your doctor or ob can prescribe it.
The headaches are basically caused by surges in pregnancy hormones.

I feel your pain! I've been cursed with chronic migraines for almost 10 years now and they were horrible during my first pregnancy and following suit this time around. Tylenol does absolutely nothing. The best things I can suggest are locking yourself in a quiet, dark room if possible and putting a cold compress on your head (the cold helps relieve inflamation in your head). It generally doesn't make the migraine go away, but it is very soothing, and at least makes you a little less miserable for a short time. Before my doctors prescribe anything stronger, they have me do the tylenol/caffine test. They have me take 3 extra strength tylenol with a highly caffinated beverage, as for some people, the extra caffine will help. Never worked for me, but it's worth a shot. If it still does not go away, call your doctor. Though it doesn't really do more than make me sleep, this time around they have me taking tylenol #3 (w/codine) and phenerghan for the nausea. The combination knocks me out. When I was pregnant with my son, I was taking percocet and vikodin, as these are also deemed "safe" during pregnancy. I also go for acupuncture 1-2 times a week to help with the migraines. For some people massage or polarity therapy can help as well (obviously let your practicioner know that you are pregnant). As for why you seem to be getting these headaches, it's most likely hormones if you've never had them before. Fortunately, for most women I've been told, they headaches tend to occure less or go away completely after the first trimester when the hormone levels tend to even off (though this is NOT the case for everyone - I had them my entire pregnancy with my son, and seems to be the case this time around). Hang in there though and know that you are not alone. Good luck and hope you find something that helps.

I'm not a doctor, but I would guess that your overload of hormones in your body is causing you to get headaches. I remember getting a lot of headaches early in my pregnancy and Tylenol didn't help. Unfortunately you are very limited to what you can and can't take to help relieve the pain. If I were in your shoes, I would try to relax as much as possible and stay out of this heat (if you live where it is now hot outside).

Ok not likely to be swine flu stop panicking already people! Most likely you should be able to take tylenol or motrin If you are under 18 never take aspirin (or other silicates such as pepto bismol for flu like symptoms as it can cause severe complications) . Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and get some rest, If your symptoms persist after a day or so of rest see your doctor.

I am at the end of my pregnancy and trust me I can sympathize with you hun. Tylenol doesnt do crap for the pain! What helped for me whas a face mask thing that you can put in the freezer to get cold....mine was the kind with aromatherapy beads in it but I'm sure it doesnt have to be that type. Lay down with it over your eyes for about twenty minutes and you should feel lots better.

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at
