400 players on its roster, what excatly happens?? do they pick out 80 current scrubs from the league and toss em out and replace em with the hew drafts??? because this practice seems unfair. you have to give evryone a chance to shine. for some players that might take a few years, and weeding them out before they get the chance to shine, for new draft picks is attrocious practice. i say have the NBA draft once in five years. what say you??

only first round picks are guaranteed to make the team as second rounders can get cut. So that's 30 players into a league that has 30 teams with a roster of 15 players. That's room for 450 players and some of them retire each year and there are always free agents each year.

If a team doesn't have room for their draft pick they'll trade him for a future pick or something or maybe do a 2 for 1 deal. The 15th man on an NBA team will get cut or if he's a FA be let go.

There's always a way to get 1 more guy on a team as they aren't all great players.

The Draft is for 60 players (2 rounds only) and the last 30 have to make the team to play.

This is an interesting thought. From the Pistons I would protect: Charlie Villanueva Rodney Stuckey Will Bynum Ben Gordon Richard Hamilton Austin Daye Tayshaun Prince The players I would leave available are: Kwame Brown - His negatives outweigh his positives, and with Ben Wallace in town now it's highly unlikely that they would take Ben because of his age. Jason Maxiell - Jason's a decent player but I don't think his value is higher than any of the guys I protected. Chris Wilcox - He and Kwame are about the same, and expansion drafts only allow one player to be taken. If they take Kwame I still have Chris and vice versa. DaJuan Summers - Looks good but I can't keep him over Austin Daye. Jonas Jerebko - He's ery raw and needs developement, which is something most expansion teams don't want.

well there is 30 picks each round and 2 rounds so there are 60 drafted players.also some draft picks arent signed so they might not play at all and some players each year retire are released, etc. it is the teams decision not the leagues. if the new draft picks are better than some other players on the team they will release the worse players.

The NBA isnt a produce now league and if anything players are drafted on potential. I am going to be nice but this really isnt a very well thought out question.

It is fine the way it is. What exactly are the new possible recruits supposed to do for five years? As it stands, the new come in, and if you are older and not good enough, you are cut, but not before getting a shot at training camp. There is nothing unfair about it. It is simply survival of the fittest.

the NBA kidnaps about 75 players every year and sacrifices them to appease the basketball gods
