I think that you need to see another doctor!!An ectopic pregnancy can kill you and needs to be surgically dealt with immeadiately, the pain only becomes worse.I think that if they said you may be having an ectopic you should visit your nearest a&e department straight away. With an ectopic you can bleed, get pains which can be worse than chilbirth, sometimes in your back and it can get unbearable and can also be left undetected which would result in an emergancy operation. If not dealt with properly and quickly it can result in death for the patient as if where the baby is,normally in your tube can burst and cause poisoning to you.In most cases it will be removed along with your ovary on the side which it has embedded itself. The operation undertaken is like a c=section. Please,go to your local hospital! I cannot beleive this doctor did not send you there straight away.

I had an ectopic pregnancy and it was very painful. I was given methotrexate to dissolve the pregnancy so that it would pass like a period. However, the pain only got more and more intense. After the shot I had to have the HCG hormone measured by having my blood drawn every other day. This is the way they can tell if the baby has passed. However, the pain didnt go away. I was given prescription narcotics and they didnt work. I called my doc almost eveyday. She told me I was overreacting. She thought I didnt want to be pregnant since I was so scared when she told me I was pregnant. I went to the doc because of the pain I had and my period hadnt showed up. That is when she told me. Turns out that I had ruptured my fallopian tube and because she refused to see me since I was calling so much I was rushed into surgery. I had the tube removed and the doc who did the surgery said that there was evidence of internal bleeding and that should have been detected when I found out that I was going to miscarry. The doc no longer works for the hospital but she is still practicing medicine.

They didn't do an ultrasound to see if you do have an eptopic pregnancy? If not, then they should. You can have severe bleeding from this, it is not something to take lightly, if that is what you have. They say you can be dianosed within the first 5-10 weeks of a pregnancy with this. It is basically when your egg is fertilized and does not attach itself to the uterine wall. They are usually called a tubal pregnancy, the egg is in the falopian tube, it will eventually rupture the tube.
check out this website, and maybe go for a second opinion.

I have had an ectopic ... they will give u a vaginal scan to see where the embryo has embedded .. they will also do regular blood tests to see if your pregnancy hormones are falling .. if they do not double and triple and they drop/even off its also a sign of an ectopic and miscarriage
ectopic are usually hard to detect as u suffer the same symptoms as a regular pregnancy ..
if u get any shoulder pain at all call for an ambulance immediately ....
*edit*
to those above me they do not keep u in hospital and operate straight away .. they need to determine if there it is a tubal pregnancy ... only emergency surgery is used when it becomes an emergency a lot of women don't know they have a tubal until its too late ... when detected earlier they know how to deal with the situation better ..

Ectopic pregnancy need urgent mecical attention and even though you do not think you are pregnant the danger arises when the fallopian tube bursts ,this is where the foetus is because it does not make its way to the utereus ( womb ) .I think it would be wise to have a proper medical test , and I would not be too happy with the nurses explanationthat it might be The symptons of etopic pregnancy is excruiating pain and by that time you will be very ill need to be seen to mmeadiately. Find out are you pregnant and take it from there 'now'

If the nurse thought it was an eptopic pregnancy then how are you online right now not knowing for sure if thats what it is, they should have been taking xrays, etc to find out if thats whats going on as soon as they even thought that might be whats wrong because that kind of thing can be fatal if its not taken care of. Go to the doctor asap, and have them do whatever tests they have to so you know whats going on, dont wait, and chance it.

i have had an ectopic pergancy.the first thing they done was booked a scan.i had a normal scan and a viginal scan but neither one showed any sign of a baby.they took bloods every day to check my hcg levels (in a healthy pregnancy they double every 24-48 hours) but my levels only went up slightly.this told them i was pregnant but they could not find where it was.i had camera put in my belly but still they could not find pregnancy.i was kept in hospital and given drugs to kill the growing sells but this did not work either.after 3 days in hospital i was rushed to surgery when baby ruptured my right ovary.
i had no pain in my belly at all when it ruptured but had severe pain in my shoulder. this was caused by the internal bleeding.
blood test is the best way for them to see whats going on but this is done over a few days but doc or hosp should tell you what symptoms to look out for.
bleeding
sharp belly pain
shoulder pain.
hope everything works out for you

iv have never had an eptopic pregnancy but it seems that if these symtoms brought you to the doctor then these are the symptons of this type of pregnancy..
im really sorry that this has happened, as i think it does mean that you will lose the baby.
Keep strong and get support from your family.

If they think that you were having a eptopic pregnancy then they should have done an ultra sound to make sure, cause it's not safe for you if you are having one. I would call them back make another apointment and have them do an ultra sound, to see if you are indeed pregnant with an eptopic pregnancy. Don't let this one go please, make that call.

An ectopic pregnancy is when the fertilized egg gets stuck in the falopian tube and begins growing there instead of the uterus. It will cause EXTREME pain and bleeding. You will need to have SURGERY. I'd call your doctor and ask again what is going on.
