If you don't know how, learn to use FOIL. learn the properties of when you use + and -.
First times first
Outside times outside
Inside times inside
Last times last
so x times x=x^2.
4 and 6, and 3 and 8 are factors of 24. You need the middle to equal +5. 8 and 3 can be added to equal 5 (8 and -3), but 6 and 4 cannot in anyway. So, you have x^2, and the values with positive 8 and negative 3. So, your answer is C.
This is a very necessary skill in all math, so learn it!

This question is not that hard. Just ask yourself, "Which of those two integers, if added, will make +5 and, if multiplied, will make -24?"
Just remember, when multiplying the two sets together, the acronym FOIL:
First
Outside
Inside
Last.
