I was just wondering what other parents do as far as naptime goes. How often and long does your baby sleep for?

My baby is 3 months old and when he was 3 weeks, he started sleeping in his own room in his crib. During the day I will put him in the Pack n Play in the living room to nap. He doesnt sleep much during the day, 2 hours after he wakes up he takes a nap for 30min to 3hours and between 5-6pm he takes about a 30 minute nap, gets a bath at 8 and is asleep by nine. He will wake up between 5-7am and eat and go back to sleep until 9 or sometimes 10. He sleeps atleast 8 hours a night and has been a very good sleeper since birth. Sometimes I can get him to fall asleep in his crib or if I nurse him in his room in the afternoon I just lay him down in there but if he is awake he just stares at the mobile and doesnt make a noise. I would rather have him on the floor watching me then him just staring at the ceiling and me be cleaning away!

Definately a baby should sleep in his/her crib if it is available for consistancy. It depends on how old you baby is on the timing. When my son was under 1 he took 2 naps-from 9:30am to about 11am and then from 2pm to 4pm. Now my son is 15 months and takes only one nap from 10am to anywhere between 12 and 2. He goes to bed at night at 8:30 and gets up at 7. As a baby gets older they need more play time and mental stimulation with less sleep.

She usually goes in the crib. We try to follow a similar night time routine. When she was younger, before she started crawling, I used to sometimes take naps with her and leave her in my bed. I try to be at home for nap, but that isn't always possible. Her naps do occasionally end up happening in the car. The duration and number of naps has changed as she has gotten older. When she was a few months she would take a number of naps and for half hour to an hour. She is ten months and now takes a two hour nap in the morning and an hour or more nap in the afternoon. If in the car, the naps end up being alot shorter usually.

I have a pack n play in my living room , she generally stays in there during the day , or in her crib if I have a lot of "noisy" chores to do around the house. She takes 20 minute - 1 hour naps , 3 or 4 times a day.

It depends on howold they are.. To start to to get the baby to learn to nap in his or her crib... I know easier said then done...A newborn will sleep alot... Almost all day...If your baby is a few months old they should have 2 naps a day ( that is what I did but that is not always right) for like 2 or so... hours each..Babies need their sleep. However each baby is differnt. But do not let this baby run your life... You set the times and the baby will soon learn and get adjusted to it... You will know when and how much your baby needs..

My son takes naps in his crib. You should have your child sleep where they sleep at night so they know that this place is a sleep place. He takes one nap a day for 2 hours, from 2-4. He's 8 months old.

We used a bassinet. we've an older one, which i think of are a sprint larger then lots of the extra present day ones. The bassinet I used is a family bassinet. She slept in it until she replaced into 3 months old. i'm going to be truthful and assist you to understand I slept with my toddler in my mattress for the 1st month. I kicked my hubby to the settee. Then whilst she replaced right into a month old I positioned her in the bassinet. Then at 3 month the crib in her own room. She has used the %. N play at Grammy's domicile and whilst we went tenting. we've one that has a bassinet you need to use with it. She did nicely in that too. the subsequent time I actually have a sprint one difficult i want a co sleeper. they have ones which you would be able to positioned the fourth part up and use as a bassinet. The %. N Play heavily isn't as person-friendly to flow around the domicile as a bassinet. i desire that enables.

if we are home she takes her first nap for 2 1/2-3 hrs in her swing for all naps during the day unless she falls asleep laying on the play mat or bouncy seat. if we are out in the car, there or at a friends or relatives she sleeps in her travel swing.
