Can anyone tell me how a oxygen regeneration system works on a space ship?

Their fuel is hydrogen and oxygen to power the motors. They use CO2 scrubbers to clean up the air. The deep space plans had proposed a large plastic tank with watter and algae.

I believe they generate oxygen in space through the electrolysis of water, using power generated by the solar cells. Otherwise, they use a catalytic scrubber to remove some of the carbon dioxide.
