I went to about 6 different cemetarys and the whole family came from all around and we had a hudge cook out like we do every year. It was nice.

Remembered the sacrifices that my SELF (Retired Military), my SIBLINGS (Still Serving), and Our FATHER (WWII Paraplegic Veteran -- deceased) made when we VOLUNTEERED to do what others will not .. which is to serve in the US Armed Forces, and to "Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States".
Also during the long weekend we got a LOT of progress on the Home Renovations that are going on at one sibling's home -- as well as general work done on the farm.
UNFORTUNATELY -- one of the more stressful things was late on the Memorial Day weekend we had one of the horses getting spooked, and get injured. That was very scary -- but ... given that stupid idiots during the night were going out into the more rural areas (like where the farm is) and shooting off fireworks (which definitely SCARE the Horses for sure) ... THAT is what concerns me -- that these idiots would be SO UNCARING about others and domesticated livestock that they think it may be "funny" to spook a horse or cow or any other animal.
VERY Busy weekend -- but we did and do reflect on the sacrifices that ALL Military Servicemembers make during their Service Careers. That is something that everyone should reflect on at both Memorial Day as well as Veterans Day -- and to THANK a Servicemember is all we ask -- just two words -- THANK YOU.
Other than that -- due to renovations at MY HOME and my Sibling's home -- I've seen more of the insides and made more purchases from Home Improvement/Lumber/Farm Stores than anywhere else over the past couple of years. Can't remember what it is like to do anything else!

It was great.
On Saturday, my kids came over & I grilled some burgers.
On Sunday, I called my father, who served in the Korean War & talked for a few minutes.
On Monday, a friend invited me to go riding in her Jeep. We drove through some rugged mountain terrain, to some out-of-the-way places & admired the scenery. We stopped at a little-known cemetery where some veterans are buried & paid our respects. We hiked a short distance along a river. We took a lot of photos. Then, we had dinner together.
Yes, it was a great weekend.

My Memorial Day weekend was awesome! Thanks for asking. I spent all three days hanging out by the pool at my apartment, and I also went to my boyfriend's family barbecue and karaoke night at my favorite bar.

We took our kids to Vortex Springs in Fl.
I would recommend that to anyone that wants fun in the sun and water!
We camped and cooked out-it was a blast!
