These are the measurements of my lot (125 ft. wide on both ends, 345 ft. deep on the upper end and 332.50 ft. on the lower side) Please explain to me how you calculate the answer. Thanks.

.97 is what the court house told me. I calculated it to be 1.24. Then I went to the building inspector and they pulled my lot up by a system called GSI and it also showed 1.24 (this is why I am confused)

Given those dimensions, you would need to calculate the area for a trapezoid.

The formula is 0.5*h*(a+b).

Your h in this case is the wide figure.

Plugging in:

0.5*125*(345+332.5)
0.5*125*677.5
=42,343.75 sqr ft

An acre is 43.560 sqr ft so you have 0.972 acres.

Basic geometry is needed. First, you measure a rectangle of 125 feet by 332.5 feet. Leftover from that, you will also need to calculate the square footage of the remaining triangle after the rectangle is calculated. I didn't go through the whole scenario exactly, but a quick guess tells me you have an acre, or very close to it. An acre is 43,560 square feet.

Cosmo-

I averaged 345 + 332 = 338 X 125 = 42250 Division by .43560 = .97 of an acre. Just shy of one acre.

43560 = 1 acre.
