The question link you provided doesn't work.

It's hard (actually impossible) to be specific without knowing the manufacturer and model of your computer. The price depends on several things ...

- Laptop RAM is more expensive than desktop RAM.

- The more RAM on the stick, the more expensive it is.

- If you have an older computer, RAM for it may be more expensive than for a newer one.

The best way to find out for sure is to visit an online RAM seller such as Crucial.com (or another one, if you prefer) and let its system scanner have a look at your computer. The scan will tell what RAM they sell which is compatible with your computer. Then you can make a note of that RAM's vital statistics, and use that information to go comparison shopping. Good luck!

EDIT - after you posted the model number: Since you have a Dell laptop, that gives you one source for comparison shopping right off the bat. Check Dell's website and a third-party seller like Crucial and see where the best deal is. One thing, though: If your laptop is still under warranty with Dell, check the fine print to make sure that you won't invlaidate it by installing non-Dell RAM. If the warranty's still in force and you're in a hurry to upgrade your RAM, you might want to go ahead and buy from Dell even though it'll cost more than Crucial. Better to spend a little more now than a lot more later, if it turns out that third-party RAM voids the warranty and later you need warranty support from Dell.

Here's some pricing info on RAM sticks:

Dell - 512 MB, $99.99
Crucial - 512 MB, $56.99

The maximum RAM your computer can handle is one gig, and your computer has two RAM slots, so in turn the biggest RAM stick you can buy for it is 512 MB.

convinced, improve to a minimum of 2Gb, the hot regularly occurring. pass to the dell internet web site and to be certain what style you want. should be everywhere from $20-40. this would seriously advance your pcs overall performance. pcs have become more cost-effective, and also you'll get a respectable twin center processor for $500 and a minimum of 2Gb's of ram and an fairly roomy 200Gb complicated force. in case you opt to make that leap. you probably can not improve the images card in that workstation considering the fact that PCI convey did not fairly come on that many pcs back then, so in case you improve your entire workstation and then improve the images card for a significantly better workstation than the only you've in the present day.

There are many ways to obtain good memory cards. Keep it in mind that your computer states that the maximum allowed for system RAM is 1GB. You can get 2x 512mb pc2100 or 1x 1GB in one slot instead of two. The link below is the specification for your particular laptop. You can go to computer fairs to get best price for certain model of memory cards. Ebay is good but sometime they are the cheap kinds that can corrupt your system. You can google it to get best price from retail stores.

Go to:
USA http://www.crucial.com/
UK http://www.crucial.com/uk

Enter the model of your PC/laptop and they will sell you quality, well-priced RAM thats guaranteed to work with your machine.

Don't buy cheap unbranded RAM, it causes crashes.

Also, check which of your RAM slots are currently in use and with what before you buy
