Basically, I'm a college student trying to invest. And there's NO WAY that I'm sticking with Etrade - those MONSTERS! Any and every constructive suggestion would be helpful!

Thanks

TD Ameritrade $9.99 per trade regardless of how many shares you trade or the price of the shares. Great if you are trading penny stocks.

No maintenance fees fir inactivity.

I use Scottrade and I'm really happy with it. Trades are only $7 a pop, so it's cheap too.

I like the real-time display where you can look at 20 stocks at the same time.

I use Sharebuilder, its pretty awesome. You can set up a portfolio of 5 stocks and once a week automatic buys for $12 a month, the sells are $16 when you have to get out, but I use them another way. They will do monthly buys for $4 each, so I pick one stock per month and it only costs me $4/month.

Scottrade or Sharebuilder. Low buying fees and generally haven't given me or others many problems if your needs are simple.
