I look at it more from the vantage point of the troops around him. Once the word gets out that Prince Harry is there, every Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorist in the area will come gunning for him specifically in order to make an international statement. That puts the prince's unit at higher than average risk...not just him.

It is not safe for anyone to be over there. He is a member of the Royal Family, but he is also an enlisted man, so it is his duty to serve where he is needed. If something were to happen to Prince William, however, he would most likely not be required to be deployed as he would be next in line for the throne.

Why do we try to demonize leaders? Does it make us feel powerful or larger? Harry is just another soldier and is willing to serve but may be restricted because of his position not from lack of courage. He is ready to serve when called, are you? Doubt it.
