I saw one last night in my back yard in Austin, TX. You probably won't see many in Georgia right now due to a bad drought you are experiencing.

Fireflies are swamp insects and need alot of nearby water to breed. Wait until about a week or 2 after your first very hard drenching rainfall and you'll see them again this summer.

Would you believe it, in Southern California we don't have fireflies! I grew up in Illinois and miss them.

When I was a kid no one knew what they ate, and no matter how much grass and fruit and other bugs you put in the jar with them, they would be dead by morning. I wonder if people know better now. I'd love a pet firefly.

We saw a whole bunch on our way home the other night. Looked like they were having a party there were so many.
