She did it to get attention. Everything she's done has all been about attention. She was used by Democrats to trumpet their petty political agendas, and once they felt that they'd gained what they wanted they had no use for her as a front--such is the nature of those in a similar mindset: Play to the delightfully ignorant in the grassroots, use them and hide behind them, convince them you agree with them totally, and convince the fools to support you. Too bad they don't have the sense to see that their own champions are as self-serving and conniving as Sheehan is. As for Sheehan, I highly doubt this will be the last time you hear from her. There's no way she'll be able to stand being out of the spotlight and not the center of attention for long.

She's probably just tired. After awhile, beating heads against a brick wall yields nothing but more blood and threats. It's not going to bring her son or any of the other sons and daughters back. Maybe she should join the Gold Star Mothers group and work with them to educate the people about the effects of war. It's pretty sad that most of the news we get about the Iraq/Afghanistan war is propaganda. It's like "shades of Vietnam".

Yes, I believe she did. The democrats, who are supposed to be the opposition party, voted against those who voted them into office. It's obvious that both parties are working against the American people now. I think she realized this and also realized that alot of egos are driving the politics on both sides. When ego gets in the way, the message is lost. The message is too important to sacrifice to a bunch of egos in the democratic party who used her. It's obvious that even the democrats don't deserve our support now. Time for a whole new set of parties that will change our country. It's like she wrote in her diary:
"Good-bye America ... you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can't make you be that country unless you want it.

"It's up to you now."

She's right. If the American people want change, it's obvious that we have to say it much more loudly and much more clear. We only get what we deserve in office. If we are a bulligerent and arrogant people, that is who we are going to get in office. And, those people don't give a damn about anyone but their own egos no matter what party they belong to.

It certainly sounds that way.

She picked up her marbles because she couldn't turn America into the country she loves.

Or maybe she's upset George Soros and Move On aren't funding her trips between California and Texas anymore.

She stopped because she realizes Bush will never listen to the American majority that wants an end to this war. So, she decided to stop protesting pointlessly to spend more time with her 3 children.

That seems to be the case.

BTW, there is nothing wrong with protesting the actions of your party. Maybe if more republicans did that then we wouldn't have the same problems we have now.
