I've wanted to have a breast implant, anyone out there who have gone through this procedure before, can you share your experiences with me?

1) Pain level?
2) Which part of the body for insertion of implant will have less visiable scar?
3) How does the breast feel after surgery? Does it feel natural or hard?

Please share your experiences with me.

Thanks alot!

I am a mammographer and I have felt/touched hundreds of breasts with implants. I don't like them at all. The majority are hard to the touch and are not pleasing to the eye. About half of my implant patients regret their decision. Interestingly enough, almost ALL of my breast reduction patients say they would do it again. The other problem I have with implants could be even more important. It is much harder to find a breast cancer on mammogram films when the woman has implants. The implants cover the majority of the breast tissue. The look like big white balloons on the film. If there is a breast cancer under that white balloon, you will never see it. If you absolutely are decided to get implants, have them inserted behind the chest wall. It won't interfer quite as much with your mammograms that way.

I dont have implants, however being a woman naturally given 34Ds i can tell you that every male ive talked to has said that they would prefer a woman with smaller natural breasts than a woman with larger not natural breasts. I commend you on doing your research. Ive known alot of women with implants and they feel ROCK hard and unnatural. The surgery was very painful and some of them came out butchered! Its your life and your choices but i feel like we are all given the skin we're in. If we can never be happy with who we are on the outside (the part that doesnt matter) how can we be happy with whats on the inside :)

What reasons do you have to want the implants?

Most guys I know hate the feel of implants and love the natural breast, no matter how small or big.

If you DO do this, please make sure you research your butt off with regards to the surgery, any complications, the long term effects, etc. That site above has a good FAQ and support board for augmentations.
