Regular light bulbs are only good for providing heat. If your reptile requires UVB, I recommend a Reptiglo 8.0 or Reptisun 10.0. UVB wears out after about 6 months even if the bulb gives off light. Replace it twice a year to be safe.

GENERAL PURPOSE BULBS WILL NOT PROVIDE CORRECT TYPE OF LIGHTING FOR REPTILES- THEY NEED A SPECIAL TYPE OF LIGHT TO SIMULATE SUNSHINE, WHICH PROVIDES VITAMIN D AMONGST NUMEROUS OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR OVERALL HEALTH OF REPTILES. ANY PET STORE CAN SUPPLY YOU WITH CORRECT SUN BULB- WHICH ARE BASICALLY THE SAME AS "GROW LIGHTS"
