I have tons of beads left from Mardi Gras. Does anyone have any craft ideas?

One of my friend sent me a really cute picture frame, made with a damaged cd, covered in colored paper and then used glue to hold the mardi gras beads around the edge. she attacked a loop of ribbon on the back, and then put a photo on the front, with a few stickers, or flower punchies. very cute and cheap. You could also put a strip of magnet tape on the back for a cute refrigerator magnet.
2. you can cut the beads, and wrap around a foam shape, either a ball or a tree covered with tacky glue, and make a neat Christmas ornament, or decoration.

You might make curtains for the doors or windows. You string the beads from the top of the door frame, allowing them to hang just about two to four inches from the threshold.

A bead skirt might also be an idea you could experiment with.

Yeah make a beaded entrance to a door opening. Attach to a heavy duty curtain hanger the install above door. Or just let them sit for over 10 years like I have done. Dang he beat me with that idea. Hey try plant hangers attach them in such a way as to allow the plant to sit in the middle and hang it from a hook.

if they're the kind which can detach from themselves and be refastened, you can arrange them into one long strand and make them into a garland for the holidays.

Buy a wooden picture frame, paint it the color of the beads (or any color you prefer) and glue the beads into a tight spiral around the edges. You can get a pretty glitzy effect from closely bunching the beads.

I know I know... a beaded candle plate!! Here is a mosaic candle plate, http://www.funkychica.com/DIY/diyPage.php?Id=85&Title=Mosaic%20Candle%20Plates . With beads the molten wax will get between the beads, so you might have to sandwich the beaded layer. In any case, I think it will be cool!

Turn them into Christmas tree garland? That would be cool! I'm assuming you have a lot? Can I have one for my cat? He loves beads! You can make a wind chime with them. You can hang them from the mail box so when the mailman comes knocking... I have a mail woman, so that would not work for me.

I would re-bead them onto wire and then shape into 3-D flowers. ( Green for the long stem with a few eye-shaped leaves. . .Gold for the center clumped in a ball...Purple petals can be daisy-shaped and open in the middle...Put several of these flowers in a vase made from a multi-colored coil ! )

I know where you can get lots of free beading patterns to make jewelry if that's your thing. It would use up lots of beads!

you can cut out a shape in color paper and glue the beads on it.then you can punch a whole in it and pull ribbon throw it then tie it. if you make a bunch of them then you can get a big piece of ribbon you can tape the shapes in place and hang then up.
