they write my social securty number on my check always i dont know why. am scared they might steal the number or do anything with it when i go cash it in stores or they cant do nothing and every check has to has a social securty number of the person check

It useully only has the last 4 digits on it.

When you apply for a Social Security number you have to give them your birth date. Yes, they can tell how old you are by checking it. However, it is doubtful that they are given that privilege. Stick to being honest. The best policy.

I would approach your human services dept at work and voice your concerns. We work with a company that transfers the SS# to an employee number. In this day and age I would suggest that is a breach of confidentiality. Don't be affraid to voice your concerns and objections.

Oh my god NO! do something about it. what is that? asking around for identity thief? what that bank is thinking that put your SSN on your check... gosh!

NEVER NEVER NEVER put your SSN on your checks....you are asking for Identity theft.

I wouldn't give it to them... if you have other forms of id then those should be acceptable to them -- if not, ask to speak to their manager.
