I had a somewhat heate argument with someone who has alwasy believed that the jewish people is behinfd every world event and that they are the ones who supposedly own all the most powerful world companies, that they influence governments and direct world history, To guys like these, even Hugo Chavez, the electroal fraud in Mexico, wwii, the iraq war, gosh, i mean even modern media culture is seen as the work of the "jews" that are behind all. I can't refute him with reasons, what do you advice, please help. I am not Jewish but I am against Antisemitism in any form, and especially this one sounds to me like one of those crazy conspiracy theories, please help. thanks.

I bet your friend doesn't believe the Holocaust happened, either? S/he seems the type.

My advice for you? Ignore him or her. There's no point arguing with someone who is so convinced that a wrong is right.

Well these are some pretty outlandish claims your associate is making. It shouldn't be too hard to counter what he or she is saying, unfortunately for you, there isn't any one thing that can be said except something along the lines of: ''you've been huffing gas again haven't you?'' Each of those claims deserves its own unique rebuttle, for which you need to be more informed. So, learn what the most widely distributed text books on history have to say about those subjects and come back at him or her appropriately.
I find the best retorts are mocking them with other even more nutty theories.
Just remember that people who believe in conspiracy theories do so because they want to feel smarter than the average person who can't see past the 'official' story, and they're one of the few who see the 'truth'. They always end up believing in the exponentially more complicated story.

Of course you're right. I also am not Jewish, but when I see what the Israelis are able to do with their little speck of land, with no oil on it at all, and compare it with the poor showing of all the nations around them, that are super rich, it's quite a comparison.
A few months ago, the Muslims said they would free two Israeli prisoners in exchange for many hundreds held by Israel. You can see how much they think they themselves are worth. A fair exchange.

Nothing you can do, some people are just nuts.

Learn what you can, both the truth and what your friend thinks.

You'll probably never change his mind, but hopefully you can discuss it and plant some seeds-maybe he'll come around on his own eventually.

Someone who believes all that crud cannot possibly be reasoned with. I'd suggest completely ignoring the person.

Just tell him, "I think it's better for us not to be friends anymore and by the way, I lied about liking any of your Lethal Weapon movies and yeah, I'm glad you didn't get nominated for "Apocalypto ."
