i am 9 1/2 weeks. i was on zofran until my insurcance stopped paying for it. it was $70 for 8 pills! anyways, the doctor put me on tigan. i take every 4 hours. i am still getting sick on it. i have taken it for three days now. i cant make it through one hour without dry heaving or throwing up.

should the medication have kicked in by now? is there something else i can take that wont harm the baby? i am afraid to ask because they will have to resort to something more harmful.

also, i am allergice to compizine and cant take medications in the same family.

are there any other options? i have to work full-time and i answer phones all day. all i want to do is go home and sit in the bathroom all day.

I had bad nausea too in the beginning. They perscribed me zofran, but also told me to try unisom with an additional B6 supplement. I tried both and actually like the unisom better. Call and ask your doctor about it, and good luck.

I always hated when people would tell me this, but it does get better, I promise.

See if your doctor is amenable to homeopathic remedies. If he is talk to your pharmicist and get some ginger. It really does help. Also make sure you keep some crackers by your bed. Eat them dry, it should help a little. Hopefully you will be over it soon. I had morning sickness for all 9 months and with my first weighed 3 pounds less the day before I had him than I did before I did before I got pregnant. I took Bendectin the whole time but they don't prescribe it anymore. It did help though.

Go to the drug store and get the motion sickness wrist bands. There are many different brands i think one is called sea bands boaters use them. That's what it feels like, it's like you have motion sickness right? I tried them and they work. wish someone told me about them with my first pregnancy. They aren't very fashionable but i'm sure you are willing to try anything a this point. You can also try ginger tea or pieces of candied ginger or sucking on lemon drops (the candy).. Im sure it's the last thing you want to do but eating something small every two hours helps to make it a little more tolerable. good luck to you.
