The Knights Templar "worked" for the Catholic church and amassed a fortune by selling "relics" that were won or stolen during the Crusades. The king of France (Phillipe, I think) began to worry that the Knights were becoming too rich and he would not be able to control them (they were based in France at the time). So Phillipe talks to the Pope...ok, he threatened the pope...and the pope says that the knights must forfeit the loot or die. Many were hunted down and murdered. Others tucked tail and headed for Scotland where they were given refuge. Supposedly, the wealth was hidden in (or below) a castle in Scotland. Current owners of the castle do not really want folks stopping by to dig up the place (it's happening all the time) cause the structures are becoming unstable.

NOW, whether or not you're actually "related" to the knights is highly debatable because they all took a vow of celibacy. You may be related to the past owners of said castle....as may I. Or any other Scot out there!

ok just to set the record stright, this whole thing seems very unlikely. Frist of all women were not allowed in the Knights Templar, even if she does have an orginal sword it could be priceless and could be sold to meausems or collectors around the world, hell I would buy it.

Secondly the only organization I know of that claims direct heritage to the Knights Templar are the York Rite Masons, and believe me they are not going to approach you, but if, however you are interested you may google the grandlodge of your state and I am sure someone can get you in the right direction to becomeone.

Any further questions/concerns/comments about masonary or the knights templar I will be happy to answer offline.

Hope this helps,

The templar knights (or knights templar) is a secret organization that worked for the catholic church during the crusades. The church turned against the knights for some reason (while they were looking for the holy grail or something) and branded them as heretics. The knights went into secrecy and mostly dabble in secret society stuff.

They are still around. That's basically what I know

interesting. be aware there are a lot of " fakes " out there. have seen people lose money when the purchase " originals " when actually they are reproductions. suggest you be cynical and skeptical as this person may have a " real " Knights Templar Fraternal sword.

When they talk about the "movie" they could be refferring to The Da Vinci Code. If you're planning on meeting this woman, then make sure someone knows where you're going. Go, check it out. You might discover something way cool. Just be safe about it.

no not weird but its definitely a coincidence and she could only have a replica of the sword most all the possessions of the knights were destroyed so that is very unlikely
