I agree 100%. There was never a partner he had that didn't work, but when he left, Jesse Martin didn't pair as well with Dennis Farina. It's hard for me to even watch now, because he was very much the heart of the show.

I think the character Lenny Briscoe (played by Jerry Orbach) brought a lot of great energy to the series. I agree with you. The show is just not as interesting as it was. It would be like the show carrying on without Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy. There is a saying that people are dispensable and replaceable. However that is not always true. Orbach's replacement is interesting but does not have the same energy that Orbach did. Regardless, I love the show and am a loyal fan.

When Law and Order debuted, the OJ Simpson debacle/trial had not occurred yet even though the episodes were "ripped from the headlines" from episode 1.

After two successful spin-offs, the creative energy has faded away. Jerry Orbach's death had nothing to do with the show's decline - all the characters continue to perform superbly - the TV environment has changed. The Simpsons are still alive after 400+ episodes because they go with the flow of Americana - while Law and Order has been supplanted by CSI and other Police dramas like Criminal Minds, Numbers, The Shield et al.

New Yorkers loved Briscoe. And that's a very New York kinda show.

But it was probably the gluttony that went with making two spin-offs. We could have had one show with a larger cast working less, but instead we have three shows. Unlike the new CSI's (who the hell came up with Horatio Caine?), SVU (although a bit more tabloidy) has it's moments, and Criminal Intent has five of the best actors ever to grace L&O.

Lenny was the best. I think the writing has gotten a bit weak over the last couple of years. It's got to be tough coming up with new ideas for a show thats been on for so long.

nicely to be trouble-free, on your social circle 25 is youthful to have a new child. that's in basic terms a actuality, there is not any longer something you are able to truly do approximately it. i comprehend precisely the type you experience by using fact i'm 26 and that i'm embarrassed to be pregnant besides. i had to get my grasp's degree in the past I ever seen having a new child, yet I additionally by no potential needed toddlers (nevertheless do no longer) so i think of my situation is a sprint distinctive. do no longer pay attention to human beings telling you 25 is "old sufficient" by using fact maximum of those human beings had youngsters in the past they have been 23. of direction people who've had their youngsters in the past 25 are going to think of you're old sufficient. yet relatively maximum bigger knowledgeable human beings wait until their early 30's. you have an benefit although, you have been with an identical guy for a protracted time. That makes it extra particular for my section. if truth be told you in basic terms ought to settle for what you have finished, and take possession of it via no longer being embarrassed. that's finished now, so this is unlike you are able to substitute the time-physique lol. probable no longer very powerful inspite of the shown fact that that's fact.

Altho I loved Briscoe.....When Chris Noth left the show it lost it's intensity. (he is back now on L&O Criminal Intent) The writing doesn't seem as good either...
